1. Deep Work

One book from Cal Newport I really like is <So Good They Can’t Ignore You>. This book left me a great impression so I am eager to read another well-known book from Cal Newport – Deep Work.

I have heard about this book for quite some time and yet had the motivation to read it. I always think I am a productive person and I am happy with my productivity. Until recently I had a major eye problem after working long hours every day with a 100% focus. I wonder if there is a smarter way to be more productive? I believe this sentence “you don’t know what you don’t know”. Maybe there are ways to improve my productivity and reduce working hours, still, have the same output? Thus I decide to add this book to my reading list for February.

2. Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself: How to Lose Your Mind and Create a New One

I started meditation since last year March. In the middle of the lockdown and many other negative things that happened to me, I could not fall asleep at night and constantly in an unstable mode. So I decided to try meditation. In just less than a week I could sleep well at night. I have been doing it ever since then, but I had to admit that I feel meditation is a task to do. Few times I skipped it if I were not at home or my daily routine is changed.

I saw a recommendation of this book to help people understand the WHY behind meditation, so it will explain to you what happens to your brain when you meditate and nail down all the reasons behind the benefits of meditation. As a logical thinker, I want to learn more about it and understand the concretes benefits of meditation, I believe it will help me stick to this habit.

3. Atomic Habits

According to the reviews, this book teaches you how tiny habits can change your life or help you to become the person you want to be. It is not theory-based rather an action-oriented book. When I read the reviews on Amazon, it looks like a life-changing book for many. I have heard of this book for quite a long time yet had the chance to read it. To complete the productivity themed reading list, I will add this book to my February reading list.

With those 3 books, I can learn how to be more productive, cultivate the right habits and stay the course of my meditation journey.

What are the books that changed your life, and you will for sure recommend to everyone?
